Large Business of the Year

The Society’s strong performance, especially in difficult market conditions, was recognised at the CN Group Cumbria Business Awards in October 2009, when the Cumberland was named ‘Large Business of the Year’ for the second year in a row.

The Society was also short-listed in the Community Involvement category.

The award was presented to Michael Pratt, Chairman, (left), by councillor Tony Markley and Neil Hodgkinson, Editorial Director, CN Group.

Mortgage Finance Gazette Awards 2010
Best Regional Building Society

The Society was named ‘Best Regional Building Society’ at the Mortgage Finance Gazette awards ceremony in London. The title was awarded to the building society which offered the most consistently competitive mortgage rates over the last year.

The Society also collected the ‘Community Services’ award for small and medium-sized lenders.

The award was presented to Chris McDonald, General Manager, by Joanne Atkin, editor of Mortgage Finance Gazette.
